Principal Schwerin is a 1982 graduate of Concordia University in Chicago Illinois. He has been in the educational field for 27 years. The past 8 years he has blessed to be the Principal at Salem. He considers it both a joy and a privilege to be a part of the Salem family. God has blessed him with the opportunity to watch the children grow in their relationship with the Lord and excel in their academic achievements. He also has the privilege of being the “watchman at the door” of Salem Lutheran School.
Pastor Martin Dressler grew up in the mountains of NC. He attended Concordia College, NY and Concordia Seminary, MO. For four years he served as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Milford, MI before accepting the call to Salem in 2017. Pastor and his wife, Justine, have been blessed with three sons, Titus, Jude, and Grey.
I have been in the child development field for 4 years. I was an aide/assistant at Coroline Mission Daycare and Learning center for close to 2 years. This is my second year teaching the Pre-K 3 class at Salem . I’m currently seeking my degree in business management through Penn Foster, and plan to take night classes at Flo Valley beginning January. I love teaching at Salem and plan to continue for many years. My goal is to be a positive guide for these children instilling in them love for others, love for themselves, and most importantly love for Jesus.
Diane Moton has been working in the Child Development field for 15 years. She has 2 years of Early Childhood Education. She started out at Little Steps Pre-School and Learning Center as Lead Teacher. She has a great love for children. In her spare time she enjoys singing, shopping, and caring for family members. She is in awe of the wonder and excitement that the children posses and wanted to work in a field that allows her to interact with them on a regular basis. The children are fantastic! She is amazed every day that such little people can have such big personalities! How many people can say that they are happy and satisfied in their career of choice. Her goal is teach to the best of her ability to ensure your children receive the highest level of education that she is able to provide.
She has been in the Child Development field since the early 1990’s. She has had experience for 19 years in the Early Childcare education. She is working toward finishing her AA and starting her BA, with God’s help. This wonderful journey has provided her with many amazing opportunities and life lessons along the way. She has a great love for children and helping them reach for their dreams through education. She believes every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world!
Sandra has been working at Salem since January 2017. She has over 10 years of experience as a teacher in both public and private schools. She has an undergrad degree in Business Administration and a Graduate degree in Business Management in which she received both from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO. She believes that a child’s success is based on a collective and cooperative parent, teacher, and student relationship. She is very excited to be teaching Kindergarten again this year!
Cynthia Schulz grew up in St. Louis City and graduated from Lutheran High School South. She earned her Associates degree from St. Paul’s College, Concordia MO; earned her Bachelors in Education from the University of Central Missouri; and completed the Colloquy program through Concordia University, Chicago. She accepted a call to teach at Salem in 2011 and has been teaching full-time in Lutheran schools since 1979. Mrs. Schulz has a lot of fun teaching the fabulous First-graders at Salem and also finds great joy in directing the choir for Grades 1-4 and Salem’s Junior Choir. She is delighted to have found a faith family among the Saints of Salem!
I am a 2000 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin with my degree in Elementary Education and minor in Environmental Science. I have been in education for 16 years, and 11 of those years have been right here at Salem. I have had the opportunity to teach second grade, third grade and fourth grade.I really enjoy second grade because I learn as much from them as they do from me. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be here at Salem.
She has lived in North County her entire life. She graduated from the University of Missouri St Louis. She has degrees in Special Education-Learning Disabled, Special Education-Behavioral Disorders and Elementary Education. She has taught Pre-K, 1st and 2nd Grade before coming to Salem to teach 3rd Grade. She is looking forward to this new adventure at Salem!
Mrs. Potter earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri-St Louis and has her Master’s Degree in School Guidance Counseling from Lindenwood University. She has been in the Education field for over 15 years teaching children as young as six weeks, to adults in the evening, to taking Math classes at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. She has spent the last seven years with middle school students and is eager to transition to fourth grade. Mrs. Potter is looking forward to an amazing school year and feels blessed to have found a new family here at Salem Lutheran School.
Cheri Mansfield has had the pleasure of being a teacher at Salem for the past 13 years. She graduated from the University of Mo. St. Louis in 1986 and taught P.E. at St. Jeromes and coached High School volleyball at Rosary (Trinity) for 5 years. In her earlier years at Salem, she taught P.E. and coached volleyball at Lutheran North. For the past 6 years, she has been the 5th grade teacher. She also currently serves as the Athletic Director and coaches Volleyball and Track. She has truly enjoyed getting to know both the students and parents at this school, and she is thankful to God for giving her the opportunity to serve at Salem.
Lianne Mergen grew up in North County and attended Hazelwood West High school. She was always involved in soccer and softball programs in the area. Lianne attended Truman State University and received a Bachelors degree in Business/Marketing and minored in Spanish. Throughout her years at the university, she studied in Costa Rica in the summer. After many years of raising her two children and working with youth in schools and church, Mrs. Mergen now teaches. She is currently working on her Masters degree in teaching a foreign language. At Salem Lutheran School, she will be teaching 6th grade and starting a Spanish program in the middle school.
This is Amy Ogle’s second year at Salem. She graduated in 2011 from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics Education. She currently helps coach volleyball and will assist with track in the spring. She is really looking forward to a great school year!
This is Aaron Craig’s first year at Salem. He is honored to join the staff at Salem Lutheran School to serve as the 8th grade teacher. He earned his under graduate and graduate degrees at the University of Missouri-St.Louis. He has been in education for more than twenty five years and enjoys helping students reach their fullest potential. He is looking forward to helping provide students with a God centered education that prepares them for positive productive citizenship.
Susan Scherer has worked at Salem Lutheran School for 19 years. She has served in many capacities in those years. Currently she works in food services, ECP, and periodically helps out in the school office. It is a joy to serve her Lord here at Salem
Mrs. Niehaus has been a member of Salem Lutheran Church for many years. She has worked in Food Service and Extended Care for 10 yrs and Administrative Assistant for the last 4 yrs.
